Notes
Four horizontal paper slits at the neck of the four pinnacles suggest there were once fliers with further alternative designs. Two of the designs shown here have an arched corbel-table frieze supporting an inverted cupped patera with ash tree finial while the other two have another stage and are thus taller and have a finial composed of an ash tree emerging from a ducal coronet (the Ashburnham crest).
