Notes
The north front is shown as three storeys high and having the main entrance at basement level leading into the 'sub hall'. The west front (with a glimpse of part of the church, here 'restored') was, in Soane's initial designs, to be demolished and rebuilt. However, this was not agreeable to Lord Eliot.
