Aspect
Plan of Saltram, altered to extend the house to the north and create a new dining room on the west front, circular, with two apses to the sides and a circular portico to the front. This is connected to the existing great drawing room by a new gallery lined with niches, with two screens of columns, alongside a new apsidal servants' hall. On the north side of the house, the kitchens are rationalized, with servants' rooms, around the existing court. Beyond is a kitchen court flanked by wood and coal storage buildings, and closed to the north by a building with an open colonnaded front and semicircular bay to the back, containing a bake house, meat house, brew house and laundry.
