Notes
This vase has a bowl decorated in its lower part with gadrooning and in its upper part with palmettes, and it has ‘S’-shaped handles with projecting lower ends. Whether the design was of ancient or modern origin is not clear. The vase’s foot is left unfinished, but the drawing which is consistent in style with a date of c.1515, is otherwise finely wrought.
