The section is of the capital shown above it, and cuts through the capital behind the volutes, to show the profiles of the echinus, abacus and other mouldings, with the position of one of the volutes being faintly sketched in on the left. The small diagram further to the left is a slice through one of the volutes to show its profile in plan.
