Notes
This vase – a modern invention – stands on a short-stemmed, flared pedestal and consists of a gadrooned bowl, a near-cylindrical middle section ornamented with what seems like foliate decoration and garlands hanging from above, and a short upper band that flares outwards at the lip. Above this is a notional lid embellished at its base with four rams’ heads (three shown) which leads up to a concave neck and a narrow opening at the top. The drawing is similar in style to the one next to it, although the viewpoint is different, and it was probably added to the page at some final stage during the second phase of the codex’s production.
