Notes
A semicircular-headed arch, 14 feet in diameter, supports a step, perron and six further steps, with a railing, that provide a way from the north end of the drawing room to the garden. Rock-work sketched in on the garden side indicates Dance's landscape treatment.
Mr D. J. Stride, the owner of the new house of Stratton Park, wrote (22 August 2000) that the bridge was 'retained when the present house was built in the 1960s'.
See [SM D1/1/1] for a design for the north garden.
