Regarding 'Hamden Hoppner', a Catharine (sic) Hampden Hoppner (born 1784) was the unusually named eldest son of the portrait painter John Hoppner RA and is mentioned in Farington's diary. Dance quite often wrote aide-memoires on his drawings.
