The 'as executed' design varies from [SM D1/2/2] and [SM D1/2/4] by having acanthus ornament over the base of the tassae. Additionally, the tassae support a double oil lamp with a central reservoir. In fact, there are variations between the 'executed design' and a photograph published in Stroud (fig.65b) and in National Monuments Record photographs (1951). For instance, the cap consists of a small segmental pediment on each face while the moulding beneath consists of guttae instead of the plain moulding shown in the drawings. The photographs do not show the oil lamp.
