As executed, the railing had scrolled bottom brackets rather than the plain semicircular ones shown here. The elevation shows that the width of each band of horizontal rustication in the Hall of Entrance was equal to that of two stairs, the bullnose moulding of the treads neatly tied to the sunk profile of the horizontal joints.
