Notes
Lattice railings are roughed in and the twin doors have a 'primitive' treatment with heavy lintels and jambs and no ornament at all. The wall treatment below the gallery consists of surbase, die and plinth. The impression, heightened by the scraped surface of chocolate-like brown washed areas and the dark doorways, is daunting.
