Notes
The circular mausoleum was built for Constantia, daughter of the Emperor Constantine, in the early or mid-4th century and was consecrated as a church in 1254. After restoration work in the 16th and 19th centuries, apparently nothing now remains of the original mosaics of the dome. The sarcophagus drawn by Soane is now in the Vatican Museum and has been replaced by a copy (noted by Professor du Prey).
