Notes

The elevation of the house is as shown in [SM D3/9/1]; the four-column portico is Doric (drawn without flutes though a dotted line may indicate them) with the blocking course now a low parapet, punctuated by four antefixae aligned with the adjacent string course, and fronting the tripartite square-headed window on the first floor.

Dr Ann Casement, Ballycastle (telephone conversation, 29 October 2002) confirmed that Dance's design for the porte-cochere was carried out.
