Notes
Soane's Bakehouse was located between Soane's Stables and Wren's old Guardhouse, bordered by the 'West Road' on its east side. Designs show a one-storey, yellow stock brick building with a hipped slate roof and a distinctive 'Soanean' central chimney stack.
The central chimney stack is shown in this drawing: a central pedestal-chimney stack framed either side by panel piers crowned by miniature canopy domes. The side piers are semi-detached from the main stack, connected by a continuous stringcourse.
