Notes
This drawing, SM 67/1/2, SM 67/1/5, SM 67/1/4 and SM 67/1/3 were evidently made as a group, all on the same sized laid paper with a plain border and punch holes on the left hand side, indicating that they may have originally been part of a sketchbook or presentation folder. The five drawings give a comprehensive record of the new Infirmary as built.
As the Infirmary had been completed in 1810, these are evidently drawings made for Soane's own records and appear to be part of a larger project. The new Stables were recorded in February - July 1818, the Gardener's house in July 1818, Soane's Bakehouse in July 1818 and the Secretary's Offices in June 1818. All of these record drawings are not only dated to a similar period, but also display the same draughtsmanship.
