[1] Preliminary design for the elevation of a gateway, c.1785, unexecuted
Aspect
Rough elevation of a gateway comprising a central carriage arch with a keystone and piers flanked by engaged columns supporting an entablature above adorned with triglyphs and a central panel, with a balustrade above. The central carriage arch is flanked by two smaller arches within pilastered surrounds with urns above a parapet. There is a smaller sketch of a similar archway design below, with less architectural detailing
