Purpose
Variant designs for a bridge, 1788, executed in part (3)
Notes
The executed bridge is most similar to this group of designs but was significantly paired-back when built, with only the rounded piers and starlings, and oculi remaining. The Doric frieze, enclosed rosettes, panel, and balustrading appear to have been omitted. However, the bridge has been significantly altered and was partly rebuilt in the nineteenth century. It is now redundant and only one side of the bridge is visibly accessible.
