Purpose
[85] Alternative finished drawing for the ceiling of the 2nd drawing room (now the cinnamon drawing room), 1765
Aspect
Plan of a rectangular, tripartite ceiling, with a central square compartment containing a medallion, enclosed within a fan, and encircled by the central compartment of reed and ribbon guilloche, with rosettes enclosed in the four outer compartments, and which is entwined with vines, and within a border of rinceaux. The central square compartment is flanked by rectangular compartments containing oval medallions, enclosed within fans, framed by tazza and rinceaux, and within a border of rinceaux
