[5] Preliminary design for the south front of a house, 1787, unexecuted
Aspect
South front elevation of a three-storey, five-bay house with flanking links terminating in three-bay, three-storey pavilions, all over a half-sunk basement. The main house has principal-floor Venetian windows with a central perron staircase, and Giant Ionic pilasters to the floors above. The ground floor windows are repeated in the flanking links, with a balustraded parapet and pyramidal roofs. The pavilions are pedimented with an arcaded ground floor
