[2] Design for the principal floor of a house, 1787, unexecuted

Aspect

Principal floor plan of a house with flanking links terminating in pavilions. The main house has a porte-cochere to the front, leading to a double-apsidal hall, followed by a principal and service stairs, and a saloon to the rear with external perron stairs. Rooms include a dining room, drawing room and octagonal dressing room for the client, as well as a library and bed chamber in the flanking links. The pavilions comprise a nursery and dressing room for Lady Hannay on one side, and an octagonal billiard room and upper floor to the kitchen on the other side, both with additional staircases
