[8] Finished drawing for the ground plan of a castle-style house and range of stables and offices, and two sets of gated entrances within the adjoining parkland, 1788-89, executed in part

Aspect

Ground plan of a house and office range within a landscape with details of the pathways and gates. The house comprises an irregular-shaped building of three principal ranges with two circular towers and a three-bay bow in the intersection between the ranges. Rooms include a drawing room, dressing room, hall, dining room and riding house for exercise. The offices comprises a quadrangular range enclosing two internal courts, one with a central dung pit, with additional yards adjoining one side of the range. Rooms include a variety of stables, barns as well as a brew house, bake house, dairy, scullery, blacksmiths, privy, bedroom and stores for potatoes. The different colour washes denote existing fabric (black) and proposed fabric (pink)
