Purpose

[3] Finished drawing for the principal front of a castellated house, 1776, executed to a variant design

Aspect

Rear elevation of a three-storey, fifteen-bay house, over a half-sunk basement, with three-bay bow ends. The central bay is adorned with stairs leading to a tripartite opening with a large fanlight, flanked by circular towers. The entire elevation is adorned with square-headed and arched windows, quatrefoil, string coursing, hood moulding, machicolated cornices and crenelations
