Notes

This drawing and SM volume 81/15 reveal the development of the five-bay vaulted enfilade, which runs uninterupted from north to south. By the end of July the roof carpentry for the top-lit galleries was complete, as can be seen in SM volume 81/15. The timber structure of the vaulted ceilings were constructed by Richard Martyr and Son who were employed as carpenters; they were paid a total of £2343.7.2 for their work. The information about the tradesmen is from the building accounts, SM Bill Book G, folios 413-442.
