Purpose

Designs for the ceiling for the saloon (now the library), and design for the semi-domes to the apses, 1767, as executed (2)

Notes

This ceiling was executed in accordance with the drawings by Joseph Rose who charged £158 for his plasterwork in the saloon. Stillman notes that the ornamentation within the semi-domes to the apses is similar to the design for the contemporary alcove panels for the library at Kenwood.
