Notes
SM 47/2/56 and the verso of this drawing have plans for the basement and ground floor of the new addition. SM 91/1/3a is a copy of SM 47/2/56 made in June 1805. The drawings show variant designs for both basement and ground floor. On the basement plans, this drawing has erasure marks between the piers and on the staircase while SM 47/2/56 includes these alterations while displaying additional alterations in rough pen. Conversely, the ground floor plan appears more developed in this drawing. 'Not perfect' is inscribed in pencil beside the ground floor plan on SM 47/2/56. This drawing has a ceiling plan; rough designs for the coffering are in the margins of the sheet.
This drawing recto shows the addition in section, having a domed ceiling and apsidal ends as executed. The windows and outer wall have been altered in Soane's hand.
