Notes

The console or bracket to the door consists of a double scroll with conventional patera, bellflower and acanthus ornament. The 'Mr Lewis' referred to was Henry Greswold Lewis of Malvern Hall, Warwickshire (q.v.) for whom Soane was designing extensive alterations and additions at this time.

SM volume 41/61 verso, SM volume 41/62 recto, SM volume 41/62 verso, SM volume 41/63 recto, SM volume 41/63 verso and SM volume 41/64 recto are all record copies of designs for which the original drawings have mosty not survived.
