Purpose
[5] Design for the rear elevation of a house, c.1773-92, executed status unknown
Aspect
Rear (south) elevation of a three-storey, seven-bay house with a hipped roof, and flanking single-storey wings terminating in pavilions with pyramidal roofs. There is a two-storey, three-bay bow in the centre of the house with a balustrade at the top, within a full-height five-bay pedimented projection, flanked by tripartite windows on the principal floor. The ground floor is rusticated, and the principal floor has balustrading and a moulded cornice. The flanking wings have openings within moulded architraves with consoles, and the pavilions are rusticated with a single recessed arch framed by columns supporting an entablature
