Aspect

Principal (ground) floor plan comprising a central polygonal range with flanking links terminating in pavilions with staircases, with an outer wall at each end with steps and a large semicircular wall opposite. The central range comprises a lobby, a hall with apsidal ends, a principal staircase, an apothecary and an assistant’s room. The links contain wards with an apsidal end adjoining the lobby and a large fireplace at the other end, with bedrooms, water closets and nurses’ rooms beyond
