Purpose

[6] Finished drawing for a church, c.1793, unexecuted

Aspect

Elevation of a two-storey, seven-bay principal façade to a church and shops. The central five bays of the ground floor are rusticated and contain arched openings with fanlights, the central three bays protrude out and support four pairs of Corinthian columns to the first floor which support a tall entablature and attic storey adorned with heraldry flanked by sphinxes. Across the elevation is a mixture of square-headed windows, oculi, cornices, string coursing, friezes, decorative panels and bottle-neck balustrading
