[4] Finished drawing for the elevation of the east and west ends of Edinburgh High School, 1776, unexecuted

Aspect

End elevation (east & west) of a two-storey, five-bay building with a central clock tower. The central three bays are pedimented and project forward slightly and in the centre is a ground-floor portico and first-floor Venetian window. There is a continuous moulded string course below the first floor. The clock tower is adorned with a fluted frieze and pediment on the first tier, followed by a clock with a moulded cornice above, the third tier comprises an Ionic columned screen followed by a narrower top tier, with a domed roof and weathervane
