Preliminary design for a clock, ND
Aspect
Elevation of a clock supported by a decorative pedestal. Supported by two sphinxes, the pedestal is ornamented with an inscribed panel, bands of rosettes and spolia, fans, a peltoid shield, and ribboned garlands flanking a mask. The ornamented panel is bordered by guilloche and a band of palmettes and ram head masks. Above, a curving stem ornamented with a figure, arabesques and a medallion is surmounted by a figurative frieze that supports the circular dial. Flanked by two figures bearing garlands, the dial is encircled by fluting and surmounted by a finial
