Preliminary design for a ceiling, ND
Aspect
Rough plan of a rectangular ceiling with three panels, the central panel being a square with a quatrefoil of acanthus leaves encircled by palmettes and bellflowers set within a lozenge-shaped compartment bordered by arabesques and figures. The central panel is flanked by two rectangular panels, the left side one containing bellflowers, enclosed rosettes and lozenges containing palmettes, and the right side one containing arabesques, a lozenge-shaped panel with a rosette and two half lozenge-shaped panels enclosing fans. The three main panels are separated by columns of bellflowers and a border of dentils
