Notes

A railing (pencilled in on [SM D5/5/36]) with two gates is proposed behind the second tier of seating. The minutes of the Building Committee for 15 May 1809 record that the 'Chairman be requested to communicate / with the architects respecting a Rail of Separation in the / Theatre for the accommodation of the Master Governors and Court of Assistants' (RCS Archive, Building Committee Minute Book). It seems that the apprentice surgeons had to be separated from the rest.

See [SM D5/9/8] for full-size details.
