[8] Alternative design for an elevation for a house, c.1768-9, executed to a variant design
Aspect
Recto: part-elevation of the principal front of a house comprising a three-storey, five-bay house over a half-sunk basement. The ground and first floors are articulated by six Ionic engaged columns and there is a central set of steps lined with a balustrade terminating in a lamp at street level. There is a Vitruvian scroll string-course below the first floor windows, and above the first floor is a moulded entablature with a fluted frieze decorated with enclosed rosettes. The second floor is divided by stout pilasters with fluted capitals supporting a cornice
