[5] Preliminary design for a pier glass frame for John Adam, 1772, executed status unknown

Aspect

Elevation of a pier glass, one half the same as SM Adam 3/38, with the swans omitted and with the addition of candelabra to the central two terms. The platform is decorated with guilloche and rosettes. There is an alternative design in the other half comprising circles in the upper section with medallions at the intersection, with tubular flowers and calyx in place of the terms, and candelabra in place of the entablatures and festoons
