The drawing is faint and sketchy and the impression is of tapered concave segments defined by ribs stopped by roundels at the top and half-roundels at the base. Stroud (p.194) describes the executed vaults as having 'fluted decoration reminiscent of that in the Guildhall Council Chamber but without the scalloped edge'.
