Preliminary design for a chimneypiece, ND
Aspect
Elevation of a chimneypiece with styles containing an ornamental panel depicting a pedestal embellished with ram masks and supporting a draped figure, with a half-patera above. The panel is flanked by Corinthian pilasters, ornamented with drop calyx and there is a band of fluting above. The capital contains an oval tablet, supported by winged sphinxes. The frieze contains a central semi-circular tablet, ornamented with an urn flanked by winged figures. The tablet is flanked by festoons and roundels depicting urns. Above this there is an ornamental band of laurel leaf tips
