Purpose
Preliminary design, design and record drawing for a hearth slab for the drawing room, 1774, executed with minor alterations (3)
Notes
In execution, the scagliola hearth slab for the glass drawing room was given a border of laurel leaves rather than the fret or calyx. Along with the chimneypiece from the glass drawing room, the slab was removed from Northumberland House prior to demolition in 1874, and survives in the private green drawing room at Syon.
