Notes

The lantern has a 10 foot radius. Two semi-circular lanterns were proposed but they are not shown on, for example, Soane's survey plan of 1831 (SM 66/4/1). Soane's Royal Academy lecture drawing of the Portugal Street front (SM 18/7/16) does not show the one at the south and neither does George Scharf's view (RCS 301) show the northern lantern over the apse.
