Notes
The length is 88 feet and the height at the east end 34 feet 3 inches. The three centre bays have semicircular-headed windows 10 feet wide, in front of which is a gallery. This early design is related to another in the RIBA Drawings Collection (SC 66/4(1)) that shows more fully Dance's first ambitious scheme which was subsequently much simplified. (See Kalman pp.69-71) for a description of the early scheme and his Dance catalogue entry in volume C-F of the Catalogue of the Drawings Collection of the Royal Institute of British Architects, 1972).
