[35] Design for a chimneypiece for the second library, c1777, possibly executed

Aspect

Elevation of a chimneypiece with fluted, tapering pilaster stiles ornamented with part-paterae and anthemia. The capitals contain tripods ornamented with ram masks, and the tripods bear urns. The frieze contains arabesques supporting scallop shells, and these are enclosed within semi-circular-headed bands of beading, with anthemia set in between On the right-hand side there is an elevation of an alternative stile with a cameo set within the capital
