[32] Design for a pier glass and table for the first library, 1779, possibly executed
Aspect
Elevation of a pier table as SM Adam volume 20/215. Above this there is an elevation for a semi-circular-headed pier glass frame supported by a base ornamented with part paterae set within fans, with a band of lozenges in between. The frame has stiles in the form of tapering term pilasters, with urns set in between, and the capitals contain ovals ornamented with winged griffins. The head of the mirror frame is ornamented with semi-circular bands of olive leaf, with a central roundel depicting an eagle set within a wreath. The mirror frame is surmounted by an urn ornamented with anthemia and ram masks, and bearing an anthemion
