[88] Finished drawing for a tureen, c1773, possibly executed

Aspect

Elevation of a tureen with a base ornamented with a band of laurel leaf tips and gadrooning. The tureen has socle feet ornamented with bands of laurel leaf tips, anthemia, and arabesques. The tureen has a band of guilloche enclosing rosettes, a central roundel depicting an eagle set within strigilation, and a band of foil, anthemia and calyx. Above this the lid is ornamented with ox skulls bearing swags, flanked by rosettes, and it is surmounted by a lid bearing a rosette, calyx and arabesques which support anthemia
