[74] Design for a chimneypiece for an unknown room, c1772, possibly executed
Aspect
Elevation of a chimneypiece, with the lining bordered with bands of fluting and laurel leaf tips. The Doric pilaster stiles are ornamented with ribbons and cascading wreaths of calyx. The capitals are ornamented with bands of guilloche and paterae, and the frieze contains ox skulls bearing drop calyx, which are linked with calyx festoons with rosettes set in between. The mantel is ornamented with a band of laurel leaf tips
