[23] Design for an overmantel mirror frame and girandoles for the music room, 1773, possibly executed

Aspect

Elevation of an overmantel mirror frame flanked by girandoles. The mirror frame is ornamented with bands of calyx and laurel leaf tips, and is surmounted by a mask set within a rosette and a wreath. The wreath is flanked by calyx supporting anthemia, lyres and arabesques. The girandoles are formed with tubular flowers surmounted by putti, which support lyres ornamented with ram masks and festoons. The lyres are surmounted by masks and arabesques supporting fans and anthemia. The lyres are flanked by four candle branches, with tubular flowers forming the candle holders
