[99] Preliminary design for a tripod and candelabrum, 1777, possibly executed
Aspect
Elevation of a candelabrum with a socle base, which supports a tripod with paw feet and sabre legs flanking a turned support. The capitals are ornamented with ram masks which suspend festoons, and set above this there is an urn ornamented with gadrooning, ram masks, and bands of Vitruvian scroll and anthemia. The urn is flanked by sabre supports and a pair of candle branches
