[32] Preliminary design for a ceiling for the ante room, c1772, unexecuted
Aspect
Plan of a square, vaulted ceiling ornamented with a central patera set within oval bands of fluting, and of foil and guilloche, and this is set within a square compartment with corner fans, and the compartment is segmented by medallions depicting hippocampi. Beyond this there are rosettes and festoons of calyx, and the corners are ornamented with anthemia and cameos. All of this is set within a square band of scales
