[5] Preliminary design for a tripod for the staircase, c1774, possibly executed

Aspect

Above- Elevation of a paw footed tripod with fluted legs, and this is supported by a fluted socle base. The tripod has a stretcher ornamented with a band of guilloche, and this bears a lekythos ornamented with gadrooning. The capitals form ram masks, and there is a frieze containing arabesques supporting calyx, with an apron of foil. The tripod supports an urn ornamented with gadrooning, an oil lamp in relief, and a band of swags Below- Plan of a tripod
