[1] Design for the basement storey of a house, 1778, unexecuted
Aspect
Plan of the basement storey of a v-shaped building with a rear rotunda which forms a five-bay bow front. The circular room contains a servants' hall beyond which a passageway links to a kitchen set at a lower level and accessed by steps. The kitchen links to a scullery which contains a copper and is lit by external and internal windows. To the right-hand side of the servants hall there are wine binns, a store room and a housekeeper’s room. There is a central, irregularly-shaped hall, with stairs on the left-hand side. Towards the front of the house there is a passage lit with internal windows and a pair of irregularly-shaped larders
