Purpose

[9] Finished drawing for a house, 1778, unexecuted

Aspect

Elevation of the principal front of a two-and-a-half storey, nine-bay, crenulated, v-shaped house. At the ground storey level there is a central, semi-circular headed, stepped entrance set within a crenulated portico. Above this there is a string course and at the first storey level there is a Venetian window flanked by three-quarter-height windows. In the upper register there are quarter-height windows, with the central windows forming oculi. The roof line of the building is ornamented with miniature turrets and there is a central, crenulated, octagonal tower, with semi-circular-headed windows, and this is surmounted by a spire
